About Me
I live in Linthwaite, a small village in the heart of the South Pennines, near Huddersfield. I was born in Kent but moved northwards to study for an MA in linguistics and language corpora at Leeds University.
After dabbling with the freelance life for a while, from 2002 until 2004 I was editor of Muso, a classical music magazine aimed at the 16-30 age group. As well as writing about my passions of travel, music, property and comedy, in my 'spare' (pah) time I sing in the Hepton Singers, a chamber choir based in Hebden Bridge and a three-piece honky-tonk band called The Duncan Train. I also enjoy stand-up comedy, theatre, live music and film.
